Carole Dromer is a medical doctor with a Master’s in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. Her career bridges clinical medicine and humanitarian action, with a focus on health in detention. After working as a rheumatologist in Toulouse, she began consulting in prisons—an experience that shaped her path. She later led health programmes in conflict zones with Médecins du Monde and the ICRC, improving access to care for people deprived of liberty across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Former Director of International Operations at MdM and Deputy Head of Health at the ICRC, she now teaches QiGong and Taichi.
